This blog was inspired by our family trip to Navarre Beach Florida in July of 2019. Let me set the stage. We decided to take the trip around March of 2019 and finally got a house booked in April. My brother has lived there for over 10 years (he and all his friends we met there we will call the “Insiders”). I had heard about it being Florida’s “best kept secret” and now the “most relaxing city”. But there never seemed to be the right time to pack up the four of us to go.
We live in the midwest, Nebraska to be exact, and flights are not great going in and out, especially with small children. And, an 18-hour drive always seemed very overwhelming.
Then about 2 years prior to our trip we got a double confirmation from some parents at our children’s school. I can’t recall how it came up, but they mentioned their vacation to Navarre Beach and they were amazed I knew what and where it was (I always kept the weather as a favorite on my iPhone app). They said they loved it!
So, fast forward, to July, and Mom, Dad, Sister (8), and Brother (5) got in the sedan and made the 18-hour trek over 3 days. 3 weeks in all with a full 14 days in Navarre Beach.
We now understand why people love it. We had a great trip, but we think it could have even been better if we had some additional information going in. The articles in this blog answer many of the questions that we wish we would have asked prior to or early in our trip to Navarre Beach. Finding the right rental is first and foremost.
